Heldreich Traditional Furniture Restorers take part in BBC's "Trust me, I'm a dealer" BBC Programme
We were asked by the Production Company from Paul Martin's BBC programme "Trust Me, I'm a dealer" programme to restore a Mahogany Bookcase Cabinet that would be featured in one of their programmes on Sept 11 at 6.30pm on BBC2

Wood grafted onto door edges

The Cabinet was surveyed to understand the extent of restoration required.
We discovered that the doors had been badly restored in the past. They had all been reshaped which meant the doors no longer fitted the carcass correctly. Using period timbers we grafted all four doors and the edges of the carcass to enable us to refit the doors correctly.

The Veneer and sections of Mouldings were badly damaged in many areas. New pieces had to be grafted in and mouldings cut to match the original. We always ensure not to over restore a piece as the aim is to maintain as much originality as possible.

The four top panes of glass were cracked or missing. We replaced these using Georgian period glass from our extensive collection. We always aim to use original materials where possible.

| Once all the repairs had been made, they were matched in and the original finish was carefully cleaned and revived to reveal the true patina of the piece. |
